Abstract/ Executive Summary
As business organizations expand and processes become more complicated, organizations are
geared to look into the automation of their business processes and systems. Storage automation is one of few answers to the
needs of such organizations. Managing storage has always been about managing risks, and the latest price to that puzzle is
automation.
Storage automation is not a new concept in the IT world, it has been in existence for decades,
which makes the technology relatively old, but the application is new. But what is also new about Storage automation
is what it offers to business organizations and models. The sophistication of storage automation makes it a much demanding
technology for business organizations that deal with bulk information, especially when such information is broken into separate
units within the same organization.
There is a direct correlation between the storage environment and the performance of an organization/
business. As an organization becomes more reliant on information, the automation of its storage resources become the backbone
of that organization, and as a result, there is need to define what storage operations within the organization needs to be
autonomous. This is essential because over-automating your storage operations might prove counter productive, thus, it is
essential to be careful in adopting storage automation.
Therefore, this site focuses on how storage automation increases the effectiveness, quality,
availability, timeliness of information and security etc of an organization, and eventually, helps you decide if storage
automation is right for your organization or not.
